***Volunteer to protect the Farnum Roadless Area: Make a
Difference! – Give Back! – Have Fun!....at the Packer Gulch Restoration
Project Wednesday & Thursday, Aug. 2nd & 3rd on the West side of
the Puma Hills, south of Tarryall Reservoir FREE! – Registration
Required; Volunteers will work with Forest Service staff to
continue Wild Connections’ work to protect the Farnum Roadless
Area.  A number of illegal tracks are invading the Farnum
Roadless Area, negatively impacting area wildlife populations
and native vegetation. Work includes installation of post and
cable fencing along FS 144, the Packer Gulch Road.  Pre-auguring
of post-holes will help make this a volunteer-friendly, quick
project, and with sufficient sign-ups, we could be done in one
day!  But we need YOUR help! Work side-by-side with your Forest
Service staff, Wild Connections volunteers and other kindred
spirits to restore National Forest land that has been heavily
impacted by illegal motorized travel. Give back to the public
lands we all love and enjoy, learn new skills and have a lot
of fun. Morning and afternoon snacks, and lunch will be provided.
Youth under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

***4-H LIBERIA - The first 4-H club was established in Liberia
in the early 1960s and the program continued to grow until the
war in 1990. At its height, 4-H Liberia boasted a fellowship of
27,000 young people in 1,950 clubs. The Ministry of Agriculture
directed the program. At the outbreak of the civil war in 1990,
4-H and the School Garden Initiative were abandoned. In 2005,
a small group of volunteers and former 4-H Liberia Fellows
reorganized the program as a non-governmental organization.
In 2012, 4-H Liberia entered into a partnership with the World
Food Program, which allowed the organization to grow in staff
and capacity. 4-H entered ten counties and founded ten clubs
per country through the grant. Since 2012, 4-H Liberia has
increased their club membership and once again partnered
with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Education. Umaru

is room to list.

OUR STORY:
A New Dimension of Hope (NDHope) was founded in 2010 by Mr. Ebenezer
Norman, while traveling in Monrovia Liberia.  He found that too many children
are missing out simply because they do not have access or the opportunity
to go to school. Only 18% of children in Monrovia can read and write. Ebenezer
grew up in a similar situation, and has a passion to make a difference.  His
vision is to see less fortunate children around the world have an opportunity to
receive an education.
OUR MISSION:
A New Dimension of Hope is a nonprofit organization that addresses the issues
of poverty and illiteracy as it pertains to less fortunate children around the world.
Our mission is to give children in less fortunate countries unlimited opportunities
to improve their reading, writing and computer skills through education. We
strive to be a part of transforming the education of millions of children in the most
underserved villages around the world.

***Dear Families,  Do you have any old/used baseball or softball equipment
lying around the house that you would be interested in donating for a great
cause?   I recently went on a trip to the country of Nicaragua where I met
some amazing people.  Nicaragua is a very poor country in Central America
with friendly people who have a love of sports, especially their favorite sport
of baseball. While traveling I was lucky enough to catch some amazing youth
baseball league games in the southern Nicaraguan community of Las Salinas
and met with some coaches and parents.  Seeing how much they enjoy the
sport and how the entire community gets behind the league made me want to
get involved.  I asked them how I could help out their league and the one thing
they need the most is more equipment to play the games.  The average
Nicaraguan family makes around $100 USD per month and can't afford to
purchase new baseball equipment.   If you have any bats, balls, gloves,
protective equipment etc. and would be willing to donate, it would be very much
appreciated by the Las Salinas community.  If you would like to donate please
send your equipment to:  Athnet 1568 Lombard Street San Francisco, CA, 94123
We are also accepting cash donations which will be used to buy new equipment
for the league.  You can send donations through PayPal to

***PARK COUNTY LOOKING FOR FILM LOCATIONS AND RESOURCES: The Park
County Tourism’s Film Office, in conjunction with the South Park National Heritage
Area, are looking to identify potential locations and support resources for any
upcoming film productions.  Park County Tourism has established a part time film
office and consultant to promote this area to the film industry as a great location for
feature films, commercials and photo shoots.  Park County is rich with epic vistas,
dramatic mountain peaks and historic communities. Filming in Park County is
another opportunity for economic development and tourism exposure.  Creating a
database of locations and resources will help sell this area to location scouts and
producers who want to film here.  The South Park National Heritage Area has
recently developed a mobile app for tourism and they have included a special
section for location scouts. Do you have a house, ranch or property that would be
great for the movies?  Is your business the perfect location to film a commercial?
Are there unique props hidden in your shed?  On April 19, 2014 from 10:00 AM to
2:00 PM at the Park County Fair Barn in Fairplay, we will welcome people to come
by and register their property and services.  We are anxious to identify the unique
homes, ranches and buildings in Park County.  In addition, we want to know about
any services you offer …construction, crew experience, talent (especially re-enactors
with costumes), old trucks, western equipment or anything unique.  People are
encouraged to bring photos they can leave. At 10:30 AM, we will be offering a short
seminar on the benefits of hosting a film production, what to expect and what they
will need.  Help make Park County a Film Friendly community. For more information,

~~ "I'm writing you today because I believe in the work our local Boys
& GIrls Club is doing.  I believe in it so much, I'm on the board.  I enjoy
the chance to be on the board.  I believe in it so much that I'm asking
you for financial support.  And that is something I truly do NOT enjoy
doing!  This organization is a community tool that gives our kids a
structured environment where they can go, that is safe and supportive.
Through the Club's programs our kids are encouraged to set goals and
work to achieve them.  They have the opportunity to learn about the
importance of on-going education after high school and to maintain a
strong value system.  Through the programs in the Club, they learn to
believe they are a valuable part of society.  We have a quality group of
staff that work hard to give these kids attention and direction.  Having
this type of organization in our little community is a privilege and a
responsibility.  We have real financial needs.  When you partner with us
and help meet these needs, you are helping us accomplish our mission.
I know some of you have generously supported the Club in the past and
I'm very appreciative of that!  I now ask you to please continue your
support of the Boys & GIrls Club of South Park by clicking on the
hyperlink below and making a donation to our Annual Campaign.  These
children are truly our future.  We appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you so much!!"  By Francie Roseen, Board Member
